Touboui Christ Fabien was born on December 20, 2000 in Zuenoula, a city in the Gouro country in Côte d'Ivoire with an exceptional cultural presence.
From an early age, Christ had a dream, that of being a painter. The very early discovery of his artistic fiber led him to integrate after his baccalaureate, the National School of Fine Arts of Abidjan (E.N.B.A) in 2017, where he obtained the Diploma of Higher Artistic Studies (D.E.S.A) in 2021, the Professional License in 2020 and the Diploma of General Artistic Studies (D.E.A.G) in 2019.
The artist is fascinated by the paintings and drawings of the great masters of the Renaissance, modern art and also African art. By reading the works of André Breton, in this case the manifesto of surrealism of 1924, he ended up adhering to the surrealist and phantasmagorical style influenced by masters such as Salvador Dali, René Magritte and Man Ray In his works, the painter established a perfect syncretism between African values, dreamlike states and an idyllic universe.
He really began his career as an artist when he exhibited for the first time at the International Biennial of Contemporary Arts, Abidjan – Ouaga in 2020.
We could qualify him as a visionary painter, his works are both enigmatic and fascinating, communicating to us knowledge and wisdom of nature.
For him, dreams allow humans to access freedom.
